1) Made progress addressing two issues of the zoom in/out paper -
a) We have an idea about how to address the overlapping zoom regions problem by taking into account the contribution of each zoom region to the total score.
b) We have an idea about how to optimize for multiple applications at the same time by taking into account the expected utility of each action over all registered applications.
2) Found an issue in the current simulation which contributes to the decreased performance in case of a large camera network which is due to a bug in the simulation code.
Next week:
1) Resolve the bug in the simulation as this is the most important thing to do for the paper which will improve the performance of our lookahead compared to all other alternatives.
2) Design and evaluate an experiment which takes into account the case where we might have multiple applications running at the same time.
3) Design and evaluate an experiment which takes into account the case where we have overlapping zoom regions.
